1.      What inspired you to pursue your studies in Management of Information Systems?

I was interested in understanding the intersection of technology and business. I also knew MIS would provide me with loads of dynamic learning opportunities, staying relevant with emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends, while opening doors to career opportunities where technical knowledge and business acumen were key. I know this does not say much about the program but feel free to reach out to me if you want to chat more!

2.     Do you have any advice for new students joining post-secondary institutions on choosing academic programs and careers for success after school?

The main thing I would emphasize is the need to balance passion with practicality. In simpler terms:

·       Explore subjects you are genuinely interested in as this usually leads to motivation and success. However, keep in mind interest may evolve, so stay open minded to new areas of study and opportunities.

·       Research the job market trends to check how your chosen field aligns with future opportunities.

·       Look to gain practical experience through co-op programs, internships or part-time jobs related to your field.

·       Develop transferable skills regardless of what you study, this will make you more competitive in the job market.

·       Lastly, seek mentorship and guidance to learn and create a network as well.
