1.  From your experience transitioning to Canadian life and culture, do you have any advice for new WUSC students?

  • Make friends in your classes and keep in touch with previous WUSC’ers in your campus

  • Hang in there, knowing others have been through it before and eventually got adjusted

2. From your experience, what does it take to succeed in Canada?

  • No short cut: do all that is required from you

  • Make connections

3. What challenges do you think hinder new students from succeeding in Canada?

  • Too many work-study hours at the expense of your studies

  • Having no relatives/friends/connections near where they live

4. Seeing how credit scores are important, do you have any advice on managing money or a credit profile?

  • Don’t get a credit card if you know you can not pay it off by the end of the month

5.  Do you have any ideas on how new students can manage expectations from friends and family back home?

  • Tell them the truth.

6. Were your aspirations met? What would you do differently if you were to start over again in Canada?

  • Not quite, but I am getting there. I would pay less attention to negative distractions.
